Anne-Ruth in Sweet Violet
A bias-cut silk wedding gown with bespoke long sleeves
Anne-Ruth booked an online appointment with me to see if I would be able to recreate my Sweet Violet bias-cut silk gown with three-quarter sleeves for her wedding in the Netherlands. We’d discussed virtual fittings – where I post out a dress toile in the bride’s closest dress size and we have an online fitting – but in the end Anne-Ruth and her family were able to make a stop off in-person in Sheffield on a road trip around the UK.
Anne-Ruth decided to keep the original silver tone of the silk after seeing the samples I posted over to her, and we raised the back neckline a little to make it just right for her. She paired her Sweet Violet with the most beautiful lace veil, which created such a lovely contrast to the silk.
Elegant hotel wedding in The Netherlands with Old Hollywood glamour
Anne-Ruth and Tim had a civil wedding ahead of their church ceremony (the two have to be done separately in the Netherlands), and then headed to celebrate at Langoed Huize Bergen in Vught – a stunning ivy-clad hotel estate surrounded by landscaped parkland. Anne-Ruth made the gorgeous bouquets and buttonholes herself, and her younger sister was their ring bearer. I think these pictures have a beautiful vintage Old Hollywood style glamour - I love the photographer’s mix of digital and analogue to capture the detail of the day.
