Emily in Lunaria

Bohemian backless silk wedding gown Lunaria for a colourful Lakes wedding

It was love at first sight for Emily and our bohemian Lunaria gown – she made a delightfully speedy decision to go ahead. We kept all Lunaria’s details just as designed: a backless style with that square open back, floaty half-sleeves and a puddle train, all made up in that divine champagne-toned hammered silk-satin.

Em added a fingertip length pearls veil – the subtle rounded shapes of the pearls mirrored the hammered effect on Lunaria’s silk – and one of our soft and cosy mohair shrugs to keep her warm on the day.

Joy-filled celebration with epic views

Emily and Luke married at Lancrigg, Grasmere in the spectacular Lake District. This country house is beautifully positioned among gardens and woodland, nestled in those epic Lakes landscapes. Their day was colourful and detail-filled and featured a pair of super-cute alpacas. Emily swapped her wedding shoes for walking boots to head out into the surrounding valley for some portraits and popped her trainers on later for some Abba-fuelled dancefloor action.

And she’s been back to see me since to have her dress’s skirt cropped, in time to wear it for an extra family party for guests who couldn’t make the wedding.

The gown was a magical dreamboat!
Wedding dress shopping was one of the easiest parts of the wedding planning journey thanks to Kate’s skills and expertise. It was a once in a lifetime experience having a bespoke made to measure dress. In my Dad’s ‘Father of the Bride’ speech he name checked you for creating the dress that “showcased Emily, my beautiful daughter”.
Thank you Kate for making my dream dress, I felt like an absolute princess.
