Hermaleigh in Bluebell + Sweet Pea
Silk and lace bridal separates for glorious Netherlands wedding
Hermaleigh found me after I’d made her colleague Suha’s gown, and loved the style and versatility of our bridal separates pieces. She opted for the full skirted slip dress Bluebell in ivory silk-satin, paired with a Sweet Pea lace top. Hermaleigh preferred a shorter sleeve than the original, and her top was created with a slightly looser, T-shirt length sleeve instead. Hermaleigh wore her dress and top together for the first part of the wedding, and the dress solo for the reception, really making the most of the two pieces with two distinct looks.
Stylish Botanical Gardens and beach front wedding
Now both based in the UK, Hermaleigh is from New Zealand and Thjis is Dutch, and they chose to marry close to his family in the Netherlands.
After a first look by the river, they walked through achingly pretty, cobbled streets to arrive at their ceremony venue – Hortus Botanicus in Leiden – the Netherlands oldest botanical garden and one of the first in the world. Their ceremony was both stylish and beautifully personal, framed throughout with stunning florals.
After drinks with guests and pictures in the beautiful surrounding gardens, they later they headed to the beach for their reception, to the dreamy Witsand restaurant, Noordwijk, for heartfelt speeches and celebrations into the night. The sunset portraits on the beach are magical!
